Anthropic’s potential $2 trillion IPO comes with the following fine print

Anthropic's reported revenue growth of more than tenfold in 2025 has fueled talk of an eventual public listing that could rank among the largest ever. The headline figure is striking, but the fine print matters just as much: the cost of training and serving advanced AI models is climbing alongside that revenue.

That tension sits at the center of the story for public-market investors. Rapid top-line expansion shows real demand for frontier AI systems, yet it does not by itself demonstrate durable profitability. Training runs require enormous compute, and serving millions of users adds ongoing inference costs. How much of each revenue dollar survives those expenses will shape how the company is ultimately valued.

The broader read-through extends across the AI supply chain, from chipmakers to cloud providers, since spending on compute flows to them either way. For now, the key question is not whether Anthropic can grow, but whether growth and costs can be brought into a sustainable balance before any listing takes place.
