Binance BTC outflows hit highest since mid-2023 as whales deposit stablecoins - TradingView

Binance has recorded its largest Bitcoin outflow since mid-2023, according to data highlighted by TradingView. The movement coincides with large holders — often described as whales — depositing stablecoins to the exchange, a combination that has drawn attention as a potential shift in positioning.

Outflows from an exchange can mean different things. Coins may be moving to self-custody, to other venues, or into institutional arrangements, so the data alone does not confirm buying or selling pressure. The stablecoin side is similarly open to interpretation: deposits can precede purchases, but they can also serve as collateral, margin, or simply a transfer between wallets.

What matters for market watchers is the pairing. When Bitcoin leaves an exchange while stablecoin balances rise, it can signal that liquidity is being staged for future activity rather than withdrawn from the market entirely. Confirmation would come from follow-through — whether stablecoin inflows persist, whether Bitcoin returns to exchanges, and how spot volumes and funding rates respond in the sessions ahead.
